Women who followed an intensive six month behavioral weight loss program followed immediately by a 12-month maintenance program and lost between 5 and 10 percent of their body weight had experienced a 70 percent or more reduction in frequency of urinary incontinence episodes. In addition, 75 percent of women expressed satisfaction with urine leakage changes and urge frequency.
