Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

I am just starting the Prism program and bought the book as a companion. I found the book to be highly informative and motivational. The testimonials were great - and many hit very close to home. The book is written in a manner which everyone can read and appreciate (not a lot of techinical junk.) The principles behind the plan are explained. The complete program is included in various chapters, a sample journal sheet, as well as a 2 week sample journal, a weeks worth of menus and recipes. I have recommended it to many friends and so far, 5 of them have purchased the book - in fact, I am buying my second book to give as a gift.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

This book so motivated me to try the program. It describes the program, tells real life stories, and even includes details to get you started on the program. This is the first time Id learned not to diet but to make real changes in my diet. I recommend this book to everyone who asks-and this is the ONLY weight loss program Id recommend. An added bonus is that it is even interesting to read. You wont want to put it down, and thats saying a lot for a weight loss book. Even my mom was inspired by this book. HIGHLY recommended.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

I am entering my 13th week on Prism Weight Loss Program. This book really is inspiring while on the program and is actually part of the reason I signed up in the first place. The stories of other people losing weight are inspirational and it helps that the author, Karen Kingsbury, has also been on the program. You learn what the program is about and the book serves as a good resource for inspiration when dieting becomes a bit much and you want to reflect on why you started this in the first place knowing that diets are normally boring. This program is a good one and the book is good, I just would have liked to have seen more pictures and hope that Karen adds some additional stories when she writes a sequel as this book needs to be bigger. Thank you Karen and I do recommend this book highly.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

This book was a God send. After reading this book I joined a local group, that was on May 4, 2000, and as of 12/20/00 I have lost 68 pounds, but I know that it was only through the grace of God. Karen placed if before me (Prism), but God has transformed me into who He created me to be. I was lost and weighted 217lbs, but through His grace and mercy I now am at 149lbs, and am 9 pounds away from my original goal, but Im hoping that Gods will is for another 19 pound loss. As Ive been on this journey out of thewilderness I pray to weight 130lbs, but Gods will will be done in this life. I know that this is the last program I will be on because of the key principles and guidelines of Prism. I thank God for Prism in my life. I cried out and He heard my cry and introduced Prism to me. Thank you Karen and thank you my God who makes all possibilities possible.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

I truly believe this program can be a lifesaver. I read the book from start to finish in two days, called the 800 number and started a group in my area. All of us in the group have lost a great deal of weight. I have never been able to stay on a weight loss program for so long (7 months) and have never lost so much weight before (46 pounds). This book was written in such a way that I knew I could do this program. It was a page turner for me, which is not usually a characteristic of a self help book. I highly recommend it for those of you who are struggling with overweight in any amount. This transformation program can save your life too.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

Thank you so much for including this book on Amazon. I have never been able to stick with a program for more than a few days, maybe a week at the most. I always cheated on WW and would feel guilty. The Prism program asks you to make a commitment by signing a statement of resolution and you are the only one who can break that promise. I have been off sugar and white flour and junk for four weeks and have never felt better. I have been a supplement user for years but never found a program that encouraged their use and WW didnt fill in the badly needed nutritional gaps and the deep need for a relationship with God that fills the emotional and spiritual gaps. I have not weighed, (we are asked to give up the bathroom scale), but I have lost one pant size and 1/2 a shoe size and all of my clothes are too big now. I probably have about 30 pounds yet to true body weight.
If you would like a program that encourages you, helps you to know yourself and God better, and works without alot of nagging, then Prism is the one for you. I do not have a group yet but I am using the videos which are professional and ver informative.
Thank you and God (b)less you.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

I am currently on the Prism diet. I am a 19 year old college student who is not more then 15 pounds over weight. I chose this program as a life changing step so that I wouldnt have to deal with being over weight in years to come. This program is excellent. My mom is also on the program and has lost close to 60 pounds. I have been on several diet plans, but the one thing that makes this plan so special is that it deals with the phycological aspect of food in peoples lifes. As you follow the plan, you do daily reading. Its almost as if the writter knows exactly what you are thinking when you are thinking it. If you are feeling rebelious against the program that day, the reading knows and talks you into the right frame of mind. For those who are religious, it deals with god helping you to over come what has held you back for so long. I feel that this program can work for anyone. Its hard and challenging but arent all life desicisions

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

I was so excited to see the Prism Diet available in book form that I bought it. I was disappointed however that it was justan overview of the program with referrals to your local support group or to call their phone number. Very little of the actual plan is in the book. They show phase 1 foods but that is the extent of it.

The success stories are wonderful and very encouraging. Our little town doesnt have the Prism Plan any longer and I was so hoping that this book would give me the plan to get started.

For those already in the plan, this looks like a great companion book to have.

Review of Book The Prism Weight Loss Program

For all of you that are members of the Prism Weight loss group, I think you will find this book very inspiring. It has many very moving testimonials from people that have reached their weight loss goals. It is the perfect book to accompany the journals and video tapes that class offers. For the person who is interested in learning what the program is about, this book tells it all from what foods to eat to why the program is such a success. I wish I would have had this book in hand when I began my journey, it would have been alot easier. Very informative read.
