Months ago I began this eating program and lost 15 pounds. Before I went to Europe for 8 weeks, I told several of my friends about it. I stayed as close to the plan as possible during my vacation and returned the same weight. My friends had lost between 25 and 40 lbs and are all off their high blood pressure meds. We all now know that we have control of our weight forever - got to go, my brown rice is ready.

The book was easy to read and if you follow the instructions you can lose weight. But it is very hard to stick to it. Enjoyed the recipes even if they were a pain to prepare but it is the only way to make this diet work. Could not make it a life style tho, only a quick and temporary fix.

Im sure that my results arent typical. Im sure that the first few pounds were water weight. Also, when my body is very fat and I continue to overeat so that it cant lose, when I finally start to diet, my body sheds the first 5 pounds quickly. So yes, I dropped the first 6 pounds in the first 2 days. However, after that, I have consistently lost a 1/2 pound a day.

I can feel the difference that this program makes in my body. I can feel the difference in my resting heart rate. I have adjusted to eating this way, and I get hungry on schedule. My metabolism is so STOKED right now. I feel fantastic. Of course, because I am losing so much so fast and because toxins are stored in fat, I have to be careful to drink a lot of water. My tongue is often coated. Ive had some light headachy times. All part of detoxifying (very similar to the effects of fasting).

I have added morning and evening fiber to the recommended diet. My body should adjust eventually, but to start with, the change in diet and the smaller volume of food combined to affect my regularity. Also, I want to keep my elimination system on track because I am eliminating so many toxins.

I recommend this book and this diet. I love it. It is working for me. I have tried so many things recently. I have spent the last year searching for and trying different diets, and I am so thrilled that I found something that works.. After the first couple of days, where I was still adjusting, I am now very happy with the diet and not hungry between meals.

I have felt out of control and defeated by my weight for so long. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am in control. Do A, get result B. Its amazing.. Im hooked. Ive been doing the diet for almost 2 weeks now. Im going to try to order Michael Thurmonds full 6-Week Body Makeover program because theres no way I want to stop doing this until I have lost all my weight.

And the amazing part is, I havent been doing the exercise part consistently. My treadmill broke and I dont have a gym membership, so getting out to walk for 1 hour at my target heart rate has been hit and miss. And Ive still lost 14 pounds in 13 days. Wow. Imagine how fast Ill lose when I add the exercise every day.

Please, you owe it to yourself to try this book. I always took the oh, Ive just got a fast/slow metabolism excuse with a grain of salt and a lot of suspicion. But now, I have a fast metabolism for the first time in my life, and Im telling you, it makes a HUGE difference.. I even cheated twice on my diet, and those meals got burned up just as fast as the diet meals. My metabolism is a raging bonfire right now. Ha ha. Whoo.

Its my understanding from others on the 6-week body makeover that the 6-day makeover is not recommended until you have gotten used to the program. I think the 6-day makeover is great for those who arent severely overweight, but if you are like me and need to lose a significant amount of weight, skip the book and get the full program. By the way, the 6-day body makeover book does contain numerous references and promos for the more expensive 6-week makeover plan.

I was a little skeptical at first but I went from 121 to 115 pounds in 6 days. I followed the diet eating 5 times a day, used the receipes, but only worked out 3 days. I was never hungery - most of time I was full and no more tiring Tae-Bo workouts. The key to this program is preparing your meals ahead of time. Im feeling better than I have in a long time and I feel like I have more energy. It really works.

I bought this book after seeing a promotional segment on Extra., the entertainment news program. In the segment, it showed a girl who wanted a healthy but quick way to lose a few pounds/inches. By the end of the six days, she looked great. Now please, bare in mind, she was also tanner and had a great bathing suit on for the after shots but, overall, she looked healthy, fit and definately more muscular. I thought, what a great way to jump start a summer program. I was especially interested in the excercise component of the program since they showed her working out on Extra with what looked like excercise bands. The basics of the diet depend on your body type - Im type E. The actual diet is similar to others that work in phases, very restrictive in the beginning. The nice part is that rice and beans were allowed for my type and for type A, I think potatoes. The downside, no dairy for six days. Lean proteins, veggies, and very limited amounts of certain fruits plus water, water and more water. Not so bad. So then I flipped to the excercise chapter. He suggested slow, target heart rate types of excercise. treadmill, jogging, etc. Ok, thats good for the fat burning part, but what about the muscle building part He does talk about the importance of weight training to help build muscle and even gives a few pointers, but if you want the customized excercise routine...get this...you have to order his other program. 6 Week Body Makeover, which according to the website costs USD1400-USD1500. 1st off let me say i have been useing this program for just over 1 year and have lost 103 inches and over 61 pounds this program works if you want it to you have to want to lose weight and be ready to lose weight and give up what made you over weight to start with this program is wonderful and it DOSE NOT COST 1500.00 bucks for the 6wbmo i dont know what that other person is talking bout anyway this program that MT has given us is the best i would tell anyone asking that this program works thank you Michael for a wonderful program well worth the 99.00 bucks i spent on it

I will agree with the fact that you will lose weight with this diet.......but cant you really lose weight with ANY diet The questions you should be asking when choosing a nutrition program are.

1) Will I be able to follow this program in the long term
2) Is there a lot of food variety to ensure that Im receiving the proper nutrients
3) After I lose the weight, will I be able to maintain the weight loss
4) Will I feel satisfied and not deprived on this diet


The answer to these questions is a flat out NO for this 6-Day Body Makeover.

The six day makeover works great to drop 5-10 lbs quickly. If you are 20 plus over I would consider looking into his 6 week body makeover for approx USD150. It is a wonderful long term plan. The diet is not as restrictive and works just as well with your blue printing and Type you are. Most of all it is healthy and you can eat real food. I lost 8 pounds the first week and since then it has slowed up a little but if you follow it to the T you can get the results promised 30 pounds in six weeks.

His information is interesting and I thought, I can do anything for 6 days but I was wrong. The food is just the pits. No oil or even spray allowed for cooking and lots of luck finding no-sodium dijon mustard. You eat very bland salad for almost every meal.

Im going to try his suggestions for exercise but switch over to another food plan.

After reading some of the reviews, I had to speak up. The exercise bands are available all over ebay. Once you know your body type its pretty easy to follow. I believe the USD1400 cost mentioned by a couple of people covers the cost of a week at Thurmonds facility. The 6-week BODY makeover is also available at many sites, including web auction sites. Thurmond knows his subject and the plan will take the weight off. be advised, though that this plan (like his 6 week plan) is restrictive and low-calorie. Also, if you buy the 6 week plan, the 6 day mini makeover is included...not the book, but an audio cassette or CD and a pamphlet.

Im writing this on day 6 of the 6 day body makeover. I lost 5 pounds. I didnt expect to loose so much because Im not that much over weight, in fact five pounds was my goal. Im going to Hawaii in two weeks and wanted to be swim suit ready. This way of eating is very foreign to me because two servings of meat a day is my usual max. I stuck to it though and now jeans that were too tight last week fit again. My stomach is flatter than it has been in a long time. This diet rocks. p.s Im over 40 and loosing weight wasnt easy anymore, until now.....

Ive admired Michael Thurmonds work since I first saw him appear on Extreme Makeover. I purchased this book soon after it was published, excited to try out his plan for myself. The book is well written and well organized, offering a personal body type test in order to identify the correct six day meal plan for each individual.

I didnt expect to lose an entire dress size at the end of the six day period (Im not overweight, but Im trying to lose about 10 pounds and tone up for the summer). As I expected, I had not lost a whole dress size at the end of the six days, though I did lose 4 pounds, and more importantly, I learned some excellent eating habits and workout tips. For the past two or three years, Ive consumed more frozen meals than I can remember. I always find myself starving about two hours after consuming one, however. Michaels book promotes a very whole foods approach to eating, offering recipes with virtually no sugar or salt. I can honestly say I was not hungry one time during the 6 day period (I did tire of chicken breast and turkey breast from time to time, but I did not follow all of the recommended recipes).

All in all, I believe that this is a great read for anyone that wants to learn more about health and finess, metabolism, and a healthy approach to eating.

This is a great book. I have seen Michael Thurmond on Extreme Makeover and his infomercial for the Six Week Body Makeover. I thought this book would be a great way to sample his ideas. In the six days since the book arrived, I am down a size, and more importantly, Im not hungry and have more energy. The book has you take a quiz to determine if your body type is A, B, C, D or E. Then it recommends an eating plan for your body type. The eating plans have you eating five or six small meals a day, combining measured portions of protein with certain vegetables, fruits or carbohydrates. The book also recommends daily long slow distance exercise, like walking for 45 to 60 minutes. Then he tells you how to modify the eating plan after the six days by adding additional fruits, vegetables and carbohydrates. He also includes modifications to his plan for certain health problems. I have been doing Weight Watchers, but without much recent success. I find that this works well with Weight Watchers. This past week I lost several pounds, and more importantly, gained energy. I just feel so good when I follow this plan.
