Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | Its OK but I would not recommend it. The recipes are kind of dry. But, to each his own. Lauris Low-Carb is pretty good.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | This is an amazing cookbook. I have made at least one recipe from it each day since getting it a month ago. The recipes feature an incredible variety of flavors and cuisines, yet doable from ingredients in your pantry and freezer. these on-hand ingredients are transformed through the cooking techniques in the recipes to yield very complex flavors. My non-low carb family has enjoyed the recipes as well. There is also great personality in the intros to the recipes which makes the book entertaining to read. Last but not least, a frequent feature of the recipes (although optional in many cases) is hot pepper flavorings. The pepper buzz is a welcome alternative to the sugar high that we recovering carb addicts sometimes still miss
Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | Everyday Low Carb Cooking is written by Alex Haas - who was the lead cook for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It has great food for normal people. The range of recipes in this book (240 in all) is phenomonal. There are many ethnic recipes, everything from soup to desserts, lots of appetizers, main dishes, salads, snacks, and more. A nice feature of the cookbook is that the ingredient grid shows the regular carbs, effective carbs, fat and protein for EVERY ingredient. So if you start substituting things to suit your own tastes, its very easy to know exactly how that changes the carb count. There arent any photos of food, but the descriptions and information make it pretty clear what each dish is about. A lot of the dishes seem fancy but are really easy to make, like Burgundy Chicken and Chicken Bordeaux. There are tons of buffalo wing variations, as he feels buffalo wings are the perfect low carb food.
Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | This book is the answer to anyone who is serious about going on a low Carbohydrate diet. Mr. Haas has taken the bland and added enough spice to make these recipes good enough to serve to friends. I especially enjoy the mixture of cusines. Highly recommended......

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | If you are low carbing it, you have to get this book. Ive bought five low carb cookbooks in the last year, and this is by far the best. The New England Clam Chowder was absolutely delicious and only 4.8 carbs per serving. Dont buy this book if you like to spend all day cooking, shopping for bizarre and obscure ingredients, or eating plain chicken breasts.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | This book is a remarkable find for me. It was recommended to me by a friend a couple of months ago and it has changed my life. I am a type II diabetic and have recently settled on the low carb way of life to control my diabetes, partly due to this book. With this cookbook I can now have real foods like ketchup, French Dressing, 1000 Island Dressing and Worcestershire sauce and, unlike other low carb cookbooks, I have a very good estimate of how many carbs Ive had. Many of the meals, such as the Quiche Lorraine Frittata and Caesar Salad (one of my personal favorites), can be fixed in 20 minutes or thereabouts. Most of the rest of them take no longer than a normal meal to prepare, 45 minutes or less. The book has also brought my family closer together because now I dont have to prepare two separate meals, one for me and one for them. My teenagers are especially fond of the pizza, the Pepperoni Chicken and the various Bar-B-Ques. Ill be ordering several copies for everyone I know who needs to be eating low carb.
Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | This book has helped me to stay with my low carb new eating habit, I refuse to call it a diet. I have found the recipes easy to prepare, taste wonderful and keep me satisfied with low carbs. The salad dressings alone, make this a must have in my kitchen.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | This low-carb cookbook has been one of three that I use for all my cooking, and I found it excellent. One of the best features is that every recipe has a breakdown of carb count for each ingredient. For instance, 1t. garlic powder is 2 carbs. I am able to lower the carb count of each recipe simply by adjusting the ingredients, something no other cookbook offers. There are tons of wonderful pork, chicken, beef, and seafood main course recipes. I have cooked over half of them, and enjoyed all of them. Unlike McCulloughs book, which uses unusual items and is a gormet cookbook, this is a down-to-earth, quick meals, regular cookbook of food that my whole family likes. I lost 25 pounds in 5 months using the recipes in this cookbook, and my other two favorites. Lauris Low-Carb Cookbook, and Back to Protein by Doyen, and staying under 40 carbs a day.
Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | I bought this book looking for every day type of easy low carb dishes. This is not the kind of food that I or my family can or would eat every day. There is alot of emphasis placed on German/Eastern European food. For instance there are six (6) bratwurst recipes, six kielbasa recipes,(3) red cabbage recipes, and other things that we just wouldnt make at the end of a day. I also think the book is in an unappealing format with the recipes appearing in a grid. There are no pictures. Its rather sterile. I let my daughter play with it. Sorry.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | With a title like Everyday Low Carb Cookery, I was expecting recipes that I could make with a minimum of hassle that would please my entire family of normal people. The recipes were far too gourmet (something I also dislike about the Atkins recipes), and few (I think I noted three) were quick enough to make on a typical work night. The author might eat like this every day, but he probably doesnt have to commute after work and feed anyone under the age of 18. I am returning this book.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | And thats what makes this book so special. When you read Everyday Low Carb Cookery, you know immediately that the author is a trained chef, you know he has prepared all these recipes, and you know that he has eaten them. Alex Haas eats his own cooking. The internet does not lack for recipes of any kind, let alone low-carb. But there are none that are written out the way Alex does it. This book is absolutely worth the and I will use mine forever. Thank you Alex.
Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | Wings. As a lowcarber of 7 years, I rely heavily on wings as both snack food and entrees. This book has 18 different varieties to choose from. Love em. Slaw. You havent lived until youve tried the baked slaw recipe. Just incredibly delicious. If youre looking for a cookbook of quasi-legal dessert recipes, this isnt it. If youre looking for a book that provides plenty of entrees and loads of different ways to get the basic nutrient providing recipes into your diet... this is it.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | Alex Haas finally offers a cookbook for real people with real tastes. I am one of the fortunate ones who had an opportunity to use his book in original form and it was great. Every receipe has been individually tested to ensure great taste, not just low carb. You will not be disappointed. My personal favorite is Chicken Diablo, but you will find soups, salads, beef, pork, other chicken, seafood, and vegatable recipes that will suit your tastes. And, oh, buy the way, there are desserts too.

Review of Book Everyday Low Carb | | Ive purchased 5 or 6 low carb cookbooks, and this is my favorite. One of the things I like best is that the recipes are not overly heavy. Im kind of tired of recipes that start like (1 chicken breast, 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 cup cheese - 1 serving), mostly because I dont enjoy the feeling after eating like that. Most of the recipes in this book are for meals that my non-lowcarbing family enjoy. There are some especially good soup recipes (which is my typical lunch since buying this book), and I had received several comments on the coleslaw I served at a recent party. Some of the carb counts can get a little high (10+ per serving), but the carbs are usually spent on healthy vegetables like tomatoes, cabbage, or onions. If you have 30 or more carbs a day to use, you shouldnt have too many problems with these recipes. A lot of the recipes have a complex taste, but are pretty easy to make. There are no dessert recipes, and no breakfast recipes. Some of the recipes can get pretty spicy if you use the recommended measurements, which I love, but you might want to halve any of the spicy ingredients the first go around. The author does detail the carb counts by ingredient, which is a great idea, but doesnt include any fiber, protein, or fat counts. I know people following the Protein Power plan would appreciate fiber and protein counts. All in all, well worth it.
