Cabbage Soup Diet 7 Day Plan

Remember. This diet should only be followed for 7 days at a time, with at least two weeks in between.

Day One.
Fruit. Eat all of the fruit you want (except bananas). Eat only your soup and the fruit for the first day. For drinks- unsweetened teas, cranberry juice and water.

Day Two.
Vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed will all fresh, raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. Try to eat leafy green vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat all the vegetables you want along with your soup. At dinner, reward yourself with a big baked potato with butter. Do not eat fruit today.

Day Three.
Mix Days One and Two. Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want. No Baked Potato.

Day Four.
Bananas and Skim Milk. Eat as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you would like on this day, along with your soup. This day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets.

Day Five.
Beef And Tomatos. Ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomtoes. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash the uric acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once this day. You may eat broiled or baked chicken instead of beef (but absolutely no skin-on chicken). If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef one one of the beef days (but not both).

Day Six.
Beef and Vegetables. Eat to your hearts content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with leafy green vegetables. No Baked Potato. Eat your soup at least once.

Day Seven.
Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. Again stuff, stuff, stuff yourself. Be sure to eat your soup at least once this day.

Cabbage Soup Diet-My Personal Experiences

Dear Friend,

I thought you might like to read about my personal experience with the diet, in addition to the raw facts presented on the other pages of this site.

I would be doing you a disservice to say the Cabbage Soup Diet is easy. Its not.

First, chances are youll get sick of cabbage really fast - it gets very bland and almost hard to stomach. However, Ive found by adding curry or other spices, the soup tastes considerably better (although still not not nearly as nice as the soup in the Negative Calorie diet).

Secondly, some people feel a little light-headed and/or irritable while on this program. However, the good news is its only for seven days. This diet is not designed for long term weight loss - in fact, most (but not all) of the weight you will lose is water.

But ... If you can stick to this diet for seven days, it might be the quick start youre looking for before you embark on a less stringest eating program. It also provides great motivation - by going on a more conventional diet after the first week, youre more likely to stay on track because of all the positive results youve already experienced.

One more thing. Id definitely recommend taking a good multi-vitamin tablet while on this diet.

Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe

Cabbage Soup Recipe

6 large green onions

2 green peppers

1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)

3 Carrots

1 Container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms

1 bunch of celery

half a head of cabbage

1 package Lipton soup mix

1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)

1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)

Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.

Directions.

Slice green onions, put in a pot and start to saute with cooking spray.

Cut green pepper stem end off and cut in half, take the seeds and membrane out. Cut the green-pepper into bite size pieces and add to pot.

Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, add to pot.

Clean carrots, cut into bite size pieces, and add to pot.

Slice mushrooms into thick slices, add to pot.

If you would like a spicy soup, add a small amount of curry or cayenne pepper now.

You can use beef or chicken bouillon cubes for seasonings. These have all the salt and flavors you will need.

Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the V8 juice), cover and put heat on low. Let soup cook for a long time - two hours works well. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Personal Recommendations.

Ive recently discovered a greatly improved diet called The Negative Calorie Diet.

This uses a much tastier soup (and is much easier to stick to.), and allows you to choose from 104 other foods to speed up your metabolism and to achieve the negative calorie effect that results in massive weight loss.

Many people tell me they find the Cabbage Soup Diet hard to stick to. If this is you, I definitely recommend the Negative Calorie Diet - it provides much greater variety, and works even better. Im speaking from personal experience - Ive tried dozens of diets without success, but the pounds just melted away with this one ... over 13 lbs in the first week alone. .-)

Pros and Cons of the Cabbage Soup Diet

Although not suitable for long-term weight loss, the Cabbage Soup Diet is a low-fat, high-fiber diet that will help you get into shape fast before you embark on a more moderate long-term eating plan.

Pros. Youll lose weight fast, and can get as much of the foods listed in the program as you want. Although the diet is only for seven days (and shouldnt be adhered to for longer), it provides a great kick-start for a more moderate diet.

Cons. Some people find the soup bland. Some people have reported feeling light-headed, weak, and have suffered from decreased concentration (although some who have been affected in this way felt it was well worth it, since it was only for a week and they had lost considerable weight).

Personal Note. Because I really didnt like the taste of the cabbage soup, I am personally far fonder of The Negative Calorie Diet, which uses a much nicer soup as its foundation, and so is far easier to stick to - the key to success in any diet.

Even though I ate like a pig on this diet, I lost 13.5 pounds in no time at all - most people lose 14 pounds in 7 days. Click here for more info ...

What the Cabbage Soup Diet is NOT

The cabbage soup diet is sometimes referred to as the Mayo Clinic Diet, and the Sacred Heart Hospital Diet. Interestingly, this diet has nothing to do with either the Mayo Clinic, nor any Sacred Heart Hospital we know about.

The Problem With Most Mainstream Diets

Most diets - especially mainstream diets, and those recommended by major medical institutions - work slowly but surely, resulting in around 1 pound of weight loss per week.

This slow and steady way to lose weight is certainly healthy, but suffers from one significant drawback . most people get discouraged and quit whatever diet they are on if they dont see results quickly.

Seven Keys to Success

Follow the diet religiously.

Drink at least 4 glasses of water per day

Keep in mind that its only seven days

Complement the diet with a good multivitamin tablet

Print the information on this site so you can refer to it daily

Eat plenty of soup - as much as you want. Do not try to starve yourself or youll probably cheat and break the diet

Try different spices to liven up the soup and add variety
